General Announcement from the Sheriff

Let me start by greeting each of you. I am sorry that my first broad band meeting as Sheriff I did not have time to meet you all in person. It was a very busy evening.

Now, let me assure you all that I am a basically peaceful man. Killing is a job for me, not a past time, not a hobby, not a distraction. A job. While it is true that I enjoy the majority of my work in clan Assamite, killing is not the majority work. Research, infiltration, reconnaissance and planning. Those are the things that take me as many as ten years to do on an average job. The kill takes at most five minutes. Then comes the circuitous trip home.

Next let me restate to everyone that I am not in this city on a contract. I am vacationing in this city, relaxing. Since a vampire takes rather long vacations, I figure I have a vested interest in the stability of the city. Also there's absolutely nothing wrong with turning a profit while on vacation.

I have previously agreed to abide by the laws of the Camarilla while in this city. This agreement is binding. If there's is one thing Assamites know it is the value of their word. Now as Sheriff I have agreed to enforce those laws. Please recall that it is not the duty or right of the Sheriff to pass judgment upon Cainites. Those things belong to the Prince, and so they shall remain. I do the Prince's bidding, no more.

Finally let us discuss the Posse. I realize previous Sheriffs in this city have used a coterie generally referred to as the Deputies, to aide in their enforcement of Camarilla law. I do not know why they did this but I consider it silly. The Deputies were rarely used, except for treachery within their ranks. I will be forming a Posse. This Posse will have no on going duties other than availability. When Cainites have been judged by the Prince and those Cainites do not give themselves up within a reasonable time period this Posse will be formed up and we shall begin to hunt. I am seeking Cainites with skill at combat (both armed and un), and with useful police and media contacts (in case some one feels they can hide in plain sight). We may gather periodically for training and practice.
